In 1988 the four friends Jackson, Gil, Shawn and Boots want to save their friend Jessie from her alcoholic mother. You steal their car and have a serious accident. The four boys are sentenced to nine months in the Quitman Youth Detention Facility. There they are mistreated and tortured by the carers and guards.
25 years later, Jackson Brooks is a successful lawyer and is in a relationship with his boss Marina Nagle. His next promotion is also imminent. But then Gil Harris shows up at his law office and asks him for help. Her former friend Boots ends up in custody and then in hospital. In addition, a former culprit was attacked by the four. With Jackson, old wounds open up again, which he long thought to be healed.
