Gamma Leporis ( γ Lep , γ Leporis ) is a main sequence of spectral F which is approximately 29 light years from the sun is removed. Gamma Leporis is located in the constellation Rabbit , southeast of Beta Leporis and southwest of Delta Leporis . The star has a companion with the same proper motion , AK Leporis , the one variables of BY Draconis type is. Gamma Leporis is a member of the Ursa Major group .

The star is larger than the sun and has 1.2 times the radius and 1.3 times the mass of the sun. Because of its stellar properties and its (relatively small) distance to Earth was Gamma Leporis as one of the main objectives for the mission Planet Finder Terrestrial of NASA selected. However, this mission was postponed several times and finally canceled in 2011.
