Gao Shuying ( Chinese  高 淑英 , Pinyin Gāo Shúyīng ; born October 28, 1979 in Qingdao ) is a former Chinese pole vaulter .

Career

At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , she was tenth. The following year she was fifth at the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton and won gold at the Universiade .

In 2002 she was Asian Champion, fourth at the World Cup in Athletics and won gold at the Asian Games in Busan , in 2003 she was ninth at the World Championships in Paris / Saint / Denis , and in 2004 she was eliminated from qualification at the Olympic Games in Athens .

In the following season she was fifth at the World Cup in Helsinki and defended her title at the Asian Cup. In 2006 she finished third at the World Cup and again won gold at the Asian Games in Doha . A preliminary round at the 2007 World Cup in Osaka was followed by a twelfth place at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing .

At the 2009 World Cup in Berlin, she was eliminated without a valid attempt.
