history

The origins of the village probably go back to the year 900 AD. In the years 1840–1862, the porcelain manufacturer Christoph Äcker from Arzberg (Upper Franconia) operated a feldspar quarry in Garmersreuth. In 1972 the municipality of Grafenreuth , to which Garmersreuth belonged, was dissolved and the municipality part Garmersreuth was incorporated into the city of Arzberg.
