Gaspar Quintana Jorquera

Gaspar Quintana Jorquera CMF (born October 5, 1936 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean clergyman and emeritus bishop of Copiapó .

Life

Gaspar Quintana Jorquera joined the order of the Claretians and was ordained a priest on March 22, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Copiapó on May 26, 2001. The Archbishop of Santiago de Chile , Cardinal Francisco Javier Errázuriz Ossa , donated him episcopal ordination on July 1st of the same year ; Co-consecrators were Manuel Gerardo Donoso Donoso SS.CC. , Archbishop of La Serena , and Fernando Ariztía Ruiz , Former Bishop of Copiapó.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on July 25, 2014.
