Celestino Aós Braco
Celestino Aós Braco OFMCap (born April 6, 1945 in Artáiz , Navarra , Spain ) is a Spanish religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Santiago de Chile .
Life
Celestino Aós Braco joined the religious order of the Capuchins and made temporary profession on August 15, 1964 in Sangüesa . He studied philosophy in Saragossa and Catholic theology in Pamplona . Aós made his perpetual profession on September 16, 1967. He received the in Pamplona on March 30, 1968 sacrament of Holy Orders . Aós holds a degree in psychology from the University of Barcelona .
Then Celestino Aós Braco was a teacher in Lecároz , parish vicar in Tudela and professor in Pamplona. In 1983 Aós was sent to Chile , where he became parish vicar in Longaví . He was then superior of the Capuchin Convention in Los Ángeles and pastor of the parish of San Miguel in Viña del Mar and episcopal vicar for the consecrated life in the diocese of Valparaíso . In 2008 Celestino Aós Braco became parish vicar in the parish of San Francisco de Asís in Los Ángeles. He was also a church attorney at the ecclesiastical court of the diocese Valparaíso and judge at the ecclesiastical court of the Archdiocese of Concepción .
On 25 July 2014 it appointed Pope Francis to the Bishop of Copiapo . The Apostolic Nuncio in Chile, Archbishop Ivo Scapolo , donated him episcopal ordination on October 18 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Antofagasta , Pablo Lizama Riquelme , and the Bishop Emeritus of Copiapó, Gaspar Quintana Jorquera CMF .
On March 23, 2019, Francis first appointed him Apostolic Administrator of Santiago de Chile and appointed him Archbishop of this archdiocese on December 27, 2019.
