The Gave de Cauterets (in the upper reaches: Gave de Marcadau ) is a river in France that runs in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region . It rises in the Pyrenees National Park , east of the Pic Falisse , in the municipality of Cauterets , generally drains in a north-easterly direction and, after 26 kilometers, flows into the Gave de Pau as a left tributary at the municipal boundary of Soulom and Pierrefitte-Nestalas .
