Memorial room
Memorial rooms are one or more rooms used by a name bearer (with a public reputation ) in which they either lived or (temporarily) worked. "Memorial Room" are distinguished by the original equipment posthumous objects of "namesakes" or (personal) by placing objects of "namesakes" by a third party.
Rooms that document the history of a place and the personalities associated with the place are also referred to as memorial rooms .
In the first half of the 20th century, postcards were put into circulation by "memorial rooms" to alert a broad population of the existence.
- In 1952, the Bismarckian Column erected in 1902 at Porta Westfalica had to give way to the telecommunications tower and was housed in a corresponding room at the foot of the tower and accordingly referred to as the “memorial room”
