The Geitauer Alpl (also Geitauer Aipl ) or the Geitauer Alm is an alp with two alpine huts in the Bavarian Prealps . It is located at around 1330 m above sea level. NHN meters. The Alm is located in the western area of the district and municipality of Bayrischzell . The eponymous village of Geitau is located just under three kilometers northeast in the Leitzach valley on the German Alpine Road .
geography
The Geitauer Alpl is around 750 meters as the crow flies (1100 meters hiking trail from the lower hut) northeast and 430 meters below the Aiplspitz . A forest path closed to public traffic leads up from the village of Geitau.
The Alm has two alpine huts. The lower hut, where the hiking trail leads past, is 34 meters north and almost ten meters below the upper hut. Both buildings are plastered quarry stone with a renewed shingle roof and boarded gable.
In addition to the 14 hectares of alpine pastures, there are 70 hectares of forest pasture .
history
According to the ridge designation , the buildings are from 1765 (below hut) and 1724 (upper hut). Both are under monument protection .
Until 1929, the Alm belonged to three farmers who sold it to the Bayrischzell community in 1929. At the end of 2006, Sparkasse Miesbach acquired the Geitauer Alpl for 750,000 euros from the municipality of Bayrischzell, and then renovated the lower hut for about the same amount. In August 2015 the Alm was sold to the Scheyern Monastery .
