The Gellershagener Bach is a 4.3 km long left tributary of the Schloßhofbach , which rises in the Bielefeld district of Dornberg and flows into the Bielefeld district of Schildesche .

course

The Gellershagener Bach rises in the Dornberg-Wellensiek district, below Wertherstrasse at the northern end of the Wellensiek green corridor. It initially forms a small spring pond, then flows north in the Wellensiek green corridor (between the Wellensiek and Treptower Straße), crosses under the Zehlendorfer Damm and the new campus of the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences in an approx. 300 m long canal near the Wellensiek tram stop . It reappears in a meadow north of the street Am Rottmannshof, crosses under the Grünewaldstraße and 150 m further east takes in an unnamed tributary that originates from the heating plant of the University of Bielefeld on the street Experience.

Middle course : The Gellershagener Bach crosses under Schloßhofstraße just north of the Voltmannstraße intersection, here it reaches the Gellershagen district in the Schildesche district , turns in an approx. 100 m long canal to the northeast, reappears on the north side of Altenberndstrasse and then flows for about 1.2 km parallel to Voltmannstrasse to the northeast, in the green corridor out of town. He goes through a rainwater retention basin , under the Hainteichstrasse and the street Am Herrenkamp. 100 m further north-east it takes up the Babenhausen brook flowing in from the left .

Lower course : The Gellershagener Bach turns to the east and crosses in a canal under the junction of Jöllenbecker Strasse / Voltmannstrasse / Schuckertstrasse. It reappears on the south side of Schuckertstrasse and enters the Bultkamp green corridor north of Lakemannstrasse, thus entering the Schildesche district. He passes the Sonnenhellweg School, crosses under the Horstheider Weg and, behind the Mergenthalerweg kindergarten, takes in the Grenzbach coming from the right. About 150 m further east, the Gellershagener Bach flows into the Schloßhofbach. Shortly before, it crosses the footpath and cycle path of the Bultkamp green corridor.
