Godetsch ( Bulgarian Годеч ) is a city in western Bulgaria . The city is the administrative center of the municipality of the same name in Sofia Oblast . Godetsch is located west of the Sofia plain on European route 80 , approx. 45 km west of the Bulgarian capital Sofia . Nearby are the cities of Slivnitsa , Dragoman and Tran .
The city is namesake for the Godetsch Nunatak on Livingston Island in Antarctica.
