In its work, the choir has also organized concerts with soloists and instrumentalists. These include the tenor Mario Podrečnik, engaged at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz , Bernarda Fink and Waltraud Mucher.

The choir is considered to be the central Klagenfurt choir of the Carinthian Slovenes. In 2006 the pastor, composer, choir director and teacher Jože Ropitz received the 27th Joško Carpenter Prize. In 2010 the choirmaster Jože Ropitz was awarded the Orlando di Lasso medal of the General Cecilia Association , a choir association of the Catholic Church, for his services to sacred music .

The choir went on concert tours in 1976, 1988, 1996 to the USA, 1992 to Argentina, 1994 to Australia and 2001 to the Middle East.

In spring 2012 the Gallus Choir represented the Austrian Slovenes at the 38th meeting of the Slovenian choirs, at which singers from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary and Italy were present.

On October 4th, 2015, the project “Stories of Slovenian Songs in Carinthia” was presented in the packed concert hall in Klagenfurt , in which 20 Slovenian folk songs are described in German with detailed information, translations and descriptions.

Our country (Carinthia)

Together with other choirs, especially the Klagenfurt-Wörthersee Chamber Choir with its choir director Christian Liebhauser-Karl, a flash mob was organized on May 2, 2012 at the Klagenfurt train station . The campaign marked the start of the “Our Land” initiative, in which 300 Carinthian singers from the German and Slovenian language cultures gathered and sang together. The aim of the non-partisan initiative is to overcome the rifts that emerged between the Carinthian folk cultures in the 20th century wherever possible. The Gallus Choir, together with the chamber choir and the military music, framed the national celebration for the referendum on October 10, 2014, where a Carinthian song was premiered and the reconciliation hymn “Carinthia-Koroška” was played. 130 singers from the Klagenfurt Chamber Choir, Gallus Choir and Villach A-Cappella Choir, together with 70 young musicians from the Alpe-Adria Regional Youth Symphony Orchestra, have Günther Antesberger's trilingual trilogy, the European anthem and the Carinthian / Koroška hymn of reconciliation “Home in the South” as part of the state celebrations interpreted on the 95th anniversary of the Carinthian referendum on October 10, 2015.
