Geoff Ian Sarjeant (born November 30, 1969 in Orillia , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper . During his career he played for the St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks in the National Hockey League and the Mosquitos Essen in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Sarjeant initially played four years from 1988 to 1992 at Michigan Technological University , where he also completed his studies. During this time he was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the 1990 NHL Supplemental Draft in 16th position.
For the 1992/93 season, the Canadian moved to the professional camp and was initially in the gate of the Peoria Rivermen , the farm team of the Blues from the International Hockey League . After good performances between 1992 and 1995, which brought him the nomination for the First All-Star Team of the IHL in 1994, the Blues appointed the Canadian to the NHL squad during the 1994/95 season , where he came to four missions. His contract was not renewed despite his services and so he moved in September 1995 as a free agent to the San Jose Sharks , who also used him four times in the NHL. In the following years, Sarjeant ran exclusively for teams in the minor leagues , mainly from the IHL, before moving to Europe in 1999. There he played for a year in Great Britain and in the 2000/01 season in Germany with the Moskitos Essen in the German Ice Hockey League . In the summer of 2001 he ended his career.
