Georg Beer (master builder)
Georg Beer (or Behr; * around 1527 in Bönnigheim ; † July 15 (or July 17) 1600 in Stuttgart ) was a German builder of the Renaissance .
Life
Georg Beer probably learned the building trade from the Stuttgart builder Aberlin Tretsch . Beer's stays in France and Italy are also likely. In 1575, Duke Ludwig appointed Beer as successor to Tretsch as the Württemberg court architect. His most important building was the New Lusthaus in Stuttgart (1584–93). One of his pupils was Heinrich Schickhardt , who was with Beer from 1578 and followed him as court architect when Duke Friedrich I took office.
