career

The trained coachbuilder first played at SC 04/26 Bielefeld before moving to Arminia Bielefeld. He stayed there until the end of his career in 1988, only interrupted by the 1978/79 season when he was loaned to VfL Osnabrück for half a year . Büscher was considered strong and versatile. He made his debut on August 6, 1977 under coach Karlheinz Feldkamp in the 2nd Bundesliga. The DSC won 3-0 at OSC Bremerhaven 93 and the young player played in midfield alongside Wolfgang Mittendorf and Lorenz-Günther Köstner . At the end of the round, Bielefeld celebrated the championship and thus the return to the Bundesliga with one point ahead of Rot-Weiss Essen. Büscher had played in 29 league games and scored three goals. He was loaned to VfL Osnabrück during the following round in 1978/79 and experienced the pressure of the relegation battle in 20 second division appearances. For the 1979/80 round he returned to Bielefeld and played an outstanding round in the 2nd Bundesliga with Arminia. With a goal difference of 120:31 and 12 points ahead of runner-up RW Essen, the team from the Alm, under coach Hans-Dieter Tipphauer, won the championship and was promoted directly to the Bundesliga. The fighter on the defensive had played in 27 league games (3 goals) alongside goal scorer Christian Sackewitz (35 goals), Norbert Eilenfeldt (30 goals) and Gerd-Volker Schock (21 goals).

His debut in the first-class Bundesliga took place on the start of the round of the 1980/81 season when the promoted team lost 5-2 at home to 1. FC Köln. During the round, with 12 first division appearances, he was not part of the regular line-up of Arminia, which was trained by Horst Franz from December 1, 1980 . At the end of the lap, Bielefeld saved itself in 15th place with 26:42 points. In the following round, the racer and rascal even had to be content with only three missions. Only when Horst Köppel took over the coaching position for the 1982/83 season did Büscher improve in the Bundesliga, but also for the team. At the side of Karl-Heinz Geils , Dirk Hupe , Wolfgang Pohl and Horst Wohlers, he helped Bielefeld to 8th place in the table in 23 league appearances. Under Köppel's successor, Karlheinz Feldkamp, he made 28 league appearances (2 goals) in the following 1983/84 season, here too the Armines took 8th place, the regular formation ahead of goalkeeper Wolfgang Kneib . Under coach Gerd Roggensack the tide turned in 1984/85, Bielefeld finished 16th, tied with Fortuna Düsseldorf, and had to be relegated against 1. FC Saarbrücken. Büscher had completed 25 league games in the Bundesliga round. In the two relegation games against the Saarlanders, 0: 2 and 1: 1, he was used in both games, but could not prevent relegation to the 2nd division. Büscher played his last game in the Bundesliga on June 8, 1985 in a 1-0 home win against Bayer Uerdingen. In front of goalkeeper Kneib and the defense chain with Detlef Schnier , Horst Wohlers, Dirk Hupe and Norbert Dronia , he acted on the side of Pasi Rautiainen , Franco Foda and Ronald Borchers in the defensive midfield.

The legendary defensive cracker played his last four competitive games for Arminia in the 2nd Bundesliga against Wattenscheid 09 (2: 3), Viktoria Aschaffenburg (1: 1), SV Darmstadt 98 (1: 1) and on September 20, 1986 for another 1: 1 on the Alm, against RW Essen as a left defender. In the summer of 1987 his career as a licensed player ended and he spent the next few years in the Bielefeld area - including SV Gadderbaum - as a coach in the amateur camp.

Büscher now works as a sales manager in Bielefeld and trained the district league team Bünder SV until 2009 .
