Georg Bergmann

Georg Bergmann (born April 9, 1819 in Celle , † October 14, 1870 in Hildesheim ) was a German painter .

1835-1837 Bergmann attended the Polytechnic School in Hanover . One of his fellow students there was Conrad Wilhelm Hase . 1843–1851 Bergmann studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Theodor Hildebrandt .

Together with fellow student CW Hase mentioned above, Bergmann restored the bone hewn office building in Hildesheim from 1853 to 1854 and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Michaelis from 1855 to 1857 . When the 14th century paintings on the church ceiling were on the verge of complete extinction, Bergmann made watercolors of the medieval works of art . Bergmann was involved in painting and restoration work on the Wallmoden manor and in Bückeburg . He also restored the painting collections in the State Museum in Hanover .
