Georg Daniel Petzold
Georg Daniel Petzold (born May 25, 1725 in Oberau near Lüben , † March 12, 1790 ) was a German theological writer .
Life
Georg Daniel Petzold studied at Lauban and Leipzig and received his master's degree at the latter university. After completing his academic career in 1750, he took over a position as court master with the district administrator of Zedlitz near Tiefhartmannsdorf . He left these circumstances in 1753. Around this time he became a preacher in Lerchenborn near Lüben, in 1755 a pastor in Kriegheide and in 1759 in Seebnitz in the Principality of Liegnitz . He died in 1790 at the age of 64.
One of his few writings deserves a mention in particular, in which he depicted Christ according to the concept of Holy Scripture , in excerpts from sermons he had given (2 vols., Glogau 1774–75). So he tried to explain the mystery of the Gospel or the mystery of Christ from individual Bible passages in another book (Glogau 1785). He translated from Latin the treatise written by Christian August Crusius on what is befitting or decent to God (Leipzig 1752).
