Georg Heinrich von Wallenrodt (born June 24, 1620 in the Duchy of Prussia , † October 12, 1659 in Grimmen , Pomerania ) was a head of the Brandenburg regiment.

Life

Wallenrodt's parents were the Chancellor in Prussia Martin von Wallenrodt and his wife Maria geb. Baroness of Kitlitz .

Georg Heinrich learned languages ​​and science and set out on a cavalier tour in 1638 . In 1643 he received an annual pension of 4,000 thalers from Queen Anna of Austria , which he was to receive as long as he stayed in France. But in 1645 King Władysław IV. Wasa brought him to his court to give him the post of governor of the prince. The king ordered him to accompany the Polish ambassador, Count von Dönhof - voivode of Pomellen. When he came to Poland in 1647, he was given the post of governor and command of a cavalry company in the regiment of Count Johann von Dönhof . The prince died soon afterwards and Wallenrodt entered service in Brandenburg. In 1649 he became governor of Neidenburg and Soldau . When the Second Northern War broke out in 1655 , he recruited five squadrons at his own expense. The elector also gave him two companies and gave him the character of a lieutenant colonel . In 1656 three squadrons of cuirassiers were added. The cavalry was raised to a regiment and Wallenrodt to its colonel. So he led the regiment into the Battle of Warsaw (1656) .

In Grimmen in 1659 he asked the (great) elector, Anna Beate von Goldstein (1645–1675), daughter of Johann Arend von Goldstein to be allowed to marry. He received the approval and the right to a district office and the administration of Tapiau . He became seriously ill and died in Grimmen at the age of 39.
