Johann Arend von Goldstein

Johann Arend von Goldstein (* 1606 ; † May 30, 1653 in Königsberg ) was a Swedish general of the cavalry .

Life

Johann Arend von Goldstein came from the Prussian branch of the noble Goldstein family . He was a son of David von Goldstein and Anna von der Horst .

Already with the rank of major general Goldstein in 1645 wrote from Caden , 1646 from Aschersleben and Minden , 1647 from Emmerich and Minden, 1648 from Minden, Herford , Emmerich, Bingardten, Koppelbudt and Stockholm , and in 1649 from Stockholm to Field Marshal Carl Gustaf Wrangel . Another letter from Emmerich to Ture Bielke (1606–1648), the father of Field Marshal Nils Bielke , has also been preserved.

Goldstein's regiment consisted of eight companies during the Peace of Westphalia .

Goldstein was a pledge holder of the Prussian property Carbene . In addition, he is said to have owned Ottlau and Bandkeim as the heir . He was also the heir to von Eyl, Rohtenholtz and Bingarten.

From his marriage to Maria von Lewald (1616–1676) he had three daughters and a son who died young:

Goldstein's widow, Maria, was married to Count Johann Ernst von Wallenrodt (1615–1697) in 1655 .
