Georg Lentz

Georg Lentz (born June 21, 1928 in Blankenhagen , † January 16, 2009 in Saint-Firmin-sur-Loire , France ) was a German publisher and writer .

Life

Georg Lentz grew up in Berlin . After graduating from high school , he completed an apprenticeship as a publishing clerk . He worked in publishing and the art trade. In 1952 he founded the up in Stuttgart paintings- and Youth books specialized Georg Lentz publishing house . Lentz managed the publishing house until 1964. He then worked as a publishing director in Zurich and at the Carl Ueberreuter publishing house in Vienna ; he also wrote some non-fiction books . Lentz had been a member of the PEN Center of the Federal Republic of Germany since 1971 .

From 1976 Georg Lentz published a very successful autobiographical trilogy of novels , which consists of the volumes "Muckefuck", "Molle mit Korn" and "Weisse mit Schuß" and is set against the background of Berlin history between 1933 and 1959. Based on the books “Muckefuck” and “Molle mit Korn”, a ten-part television series entitled “ Molle mit Korn ” was produced in 1988 . The novel “Das Schützenhaus” is a parallel story to the Berlin trilogy, in which many of the characters are guests.
