Georg Ott

Georg Ott (born October 19, 1811 in Sulzbach , † November 17, 1885 in Abensberg ) was a Catholic theologian and writer.

Life

Georg Ott was born in 1811 as the son of a Sulzbach butcher. He studied theology in Regensburg and was ordained a priest on July 2, 1837. He was first assistant priest in the collegiate church of Obermünster and then from August 27, 1838 to 1842 chaplain in Dieterskirchen and in Schwarzach . Then he worked as a parish provisional until 1845 , d. H. as the vicar's deputy in Oberwinkling and until 1849 as a chaplain in Deggendorf . He came to Riedenburg as an expositus and on April 19, 1854 was given a pastor's post in Beratzhausen . He worked there until May 1862 and then moved to Abensberg as the town pastor. He died in Abensberg on November 17, 1885.

Georg Ott wrote a total of 34 theological books and was a widely read writer in his day.
