Georg Samuel Madihn

Georg Samuel Madihn (born December 24, 1729 in Wolfenbüttel , † October 14, 1784 in Frankfurt an der Oder ) was a German lawyer and university professor .

Georg Samuel Madihn, the son of a Wolfenbüttel general auditor and court judge and brother of the Wroclaw University Rector Ludwig Gottfried Madihn , attended the Great School Wolfenbüttel , the Latin school of the orphanage in Halle and the Collegium Carolinum in Braunschweig. He studied law at the University of Helmstedt and the Friedrichs University of Halle . Among his academic teachers were Franz Carl Conradi and Johann Georg Pertsch . He graduated in 1751.

After three years working on Hofgericht Wolfenbüttel doctorate he 1754 hall to Dr. iur. In 1757 he was appointed assessor of the Halle jury chair. 1758 he received a call on the Chair of the University of Halle. In 1772 he moved to the University of Frankfurt an der Oder . In Frankfurt he was a member of the Freemason's lodge Zum honestigen Herzen .

Madihn dealt, among other things, with Roman private law and natural law .
