Georg Schlaga

Georg Schlaga (born November 3, 1924 in Kirchmöser ; † December 30, 2018 ) was a German educator and politician ( SPD ). He was a member of the advisory board of the Humanist Union .

Life and work

After attending school, Schlaga was drafted into the Wehrmacht , took part in the Second World War as a soldier from 1943 to 1945 and was finally taken prisoner. He then completed a part-time degree in German and politics. He then worked as a teacher at a primary school, since 1961 in the position of rector. Schlaga has lived occasionally since 1977 and since 2007 permanently in the Hirzenhain district of Glashütten-Streithain.

Schlaga was councilor of the municipality Rodheim (now Rosbach ) and from 1962 to 1971 council member of the district Friedberg and 1972-1976 of Wetteraukreises . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1969 to 1987. In parliament he represented the constituency of Friedberg from 1969 to 1980 and the constituency of Wetterau from 1980 to 1983 . From 1983 to 1987 he was drafted into the Bundestag via the Hesse state list.
