Georg Schneider (politician, 1902)
Georg Schneider ( pseudonym : Erno R. Scheidegg ; born April 15, 1902 in Coburg ; † November 24, 1972 in Munich ) was a German writer , politician ( FDP ) and rector .
Life
Georg Schneider, born on April 15, 1902 in Coburg, taught at various Coburg elementary schools after completing the teachers' seminar in Coburg. In addition, he worked as a translator of works from French, such as Tristan Corbière and Paul Valéry . He also made trips to Italy , Switzerland and France .
After Georg Schneider was banned from publication by the Nazi regime in 1933 , he served as a soldier in World War II from 1939 before he was taken prisoner by the French, Italian and American forces. After his return, Fischer, a member of the FDP , was elected to the state constitutional assembly in 1946, then elected to the Bavarian state parliament before he resigned from his political offices in 1950. In 1955 he was appointed principal of a school in Munich-Schwabing . Georg Schneider died on November 24, 1972 at the age of 70 in Munich.
Georg Schneider, who also used the pseudonym Erno R. Scheidegg, became known in the 1950s with modern and strict poetry, which was influenced by Oskar Loerke and Wilhelm Lehmann . He also emerged as a translator of English, French and Chinese literature and as the editor of editions of works by Jean Paul and Friedrich Rückert , among others .
