Georg van Eyck
Georg van Eyck (born September 3, 1869 in Emmerich ; † February 13, 1951 in Öflingen ) was an entrepreneur and member of the German Reichstag .
Life
Georg van Eyck had a wholesale and retail store for household goods in Emmerich. As such, he got to know the Weck jars for preserving and, together with Johann Carl Weck , founded the J. Weck GmbH in Öflingen, which still exists today. Weck soon withdrew from the business and van Eyck became the company's sole partner. In 1924 he resigned from the management and moved to Baden-Baden . His son-in-law Albert Hackelsberger took over the management of the company.
From 1916 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Baden 3 ( Waldshut , Säckingen , Neustadt in the Black Forest ) and the German Center Party .
