Georg von Carlowitz

Georg von Carlowitz (* around 1471; † May 2, 1550 ) was a political advisor.

His father was Blasius von Carlowitz . Christoph von Carlowitz was his uncle.

Carlowitz was the most trusted advice of Duke George the Bearded of Saxony. He remained one of the most influential councilors under Duke Moritz .

Georg von Carlowitz was the one who, at his suggestion in 1537, the then Elector Moritz issued the "New State Regulations" on May 21, 1543, with which the new schools in the Von Dreyen section laid the permanent basis for the Princely and State Schools Schulpforta (1543) near Naumburg , St. Afra (1543) in Meißen and St. Augustin (1550) in Grimma .

Carlowitz married Anna Pflugk , a daughter of the council of Caesar Pflugk (1458–1524).
