George Whitelock (born March 27, 1986 in Palmerston North , New Zealand ) is a New Zealand rugby union player on the position of winger . His three brothers Adam Whitelock , Luke Whitelock and Sam Whitelock are also New Zealand rugby union players. In addition, his father Braeden Whitelock is a former rugby player for the Junior All Blacks and his grandfather Nelson Dalzell was a New Zealand national rugby player.

Like his brothers, he went to school in Feilding High School. As a youth player, he was the team captain of the New Zealand U-19 national team in 2005 and the U-21 national team in 2007.

In 2007 Whitelock also made his debut for the Otago RFU in the New Zealand rugby championship . In his first season, he only missed two Otago games. After that, however, he moved to Canterbury RFU , like his brothers Adam and Sam before, since he has enrolled at Lincoln University . There, unlike his brother Sam, he did not join the university's rugby club, but went to Christchurch High School Old Boys RFC, like his brother Adam. In 2009, George Whitelock was named University Sportsman of the Year, like Sam a year earlier. With Canterbury he was New Zealand champion in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. He has also been captain of the team since 2009 and his brother Luke has also played for Canterbury since 2011.

In 2008 he made his debut with the Crusaders in super rugby , where Adam and Sam also play. At the end of the season he was able to win the title with the Crusaders. In 2009 and 2010 he failed with them in the semi-finals and in 2011 in the final.

In 2009 there was a nomination for the New Zealand national team (All Blacks) for the first time . His only international match so far was against the Italian national team when he came on and scored an attempt in his first game for the All Blacks .
