Georgi Kassabow ( Bulgarian Георги Касабов ; born October 6, 1978 in Samokow , Bulgaria ) is a former Bulgarian biathlete .

Georgi Kassabow lives in Samokow. He starts for Slavia Sofia and started biathlon in 1990. In 1997 he contested his first race in the Biathlon World Cup with a sprint in Oberhof and finished 96th. In the same place he achieved his best result in a pure World Cup race in 1999 with 54th place in a pursuit race.

The first major event in 1997 was the Junior World Championships in Forni Avoltri , where he was 46th. 1998 Kassabow started in Nagano at his first international championship in the performance area, the Olympic Winter Games , in which the Bulgarian finished 67th in the individual and 57th in the sprint. In 2000 he took part in the Biathlon European Championships in Zakopane and was 23rd in the individual, 17th in the sprint and 18th in the pursuit. Shortly afterwards, he also took part in the 2000 Biathlon World Championships at Holmenkollen in Oslo and finished 84th in the individual and 81st in the sprint. In the following year he also took part in the European Championships and was 45th in the sprint, 37th in the individual and did not finish the individual in Haute-Maurienne .

Also at the Biathlon World Championships 2001 in Pokljuka Kassabow was used, in which he was 53rd in the individual and 85th in the sprint. In Salt Lake City , the Bulgarian was able to take part in the Olympic Games for the second time in 2002 , where he was 65th in the individual, 60th in the sprint and 56th in the pursuit. The last major event was the 2002 European Biathlon Championships in Kontiolahti . In Finland he finished 40th in both the sprint and the pursuit. In 2003 he contested his last international race in Obertilliach in a race in the Biathlon European Cup .
