Gerardo Núñez Díaz (* 1961 in Jerez de la Frontera ) is a Spanish flamenco - guitarist . He is married to the flamenco dancer Carmen Cortés .

Alongside Paco de Lucía , he is considered one of the most important modern flamenco guitarists. His style of playing is virtuoso, his compositions combine classic flamenco with elements of jazz and in some cases are among the classic works of flamenco jazz . He worked with artists from different genres such as Plácido Domingo , Julio Iglesias , the band Mecano , the double bass player Renaud Garcia-Fons and with many other flamenco guitarists and singers.
