Gerd Türk (born in the 2nd half of the 20th century ) is a German classical singer with a tenor voice .

Life

Gerd Türk received his first basic musical knowledge as a singing boy with the Limburger Domsingknaben . He studied music education, church music and choral conducting in Frankfurt and later pursued further studies in singing and interpretation at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Richard Levitt and René Jacobs . He attended master classes with Ernst Haefliger and Kurt Equiluz .

In the area of ​​historical performance practice he worked with Frans Brüggen , Philippe Herreweghe and Jordi Savall , among others . He was a founding member of the “ Cantus Cölln ” ensemble and sang in the “Ensemble Gilles Binchois” under Dominique Vellard, which specializes in medieval music. He emerged as an evangelist in the Passions of Johann Sebastian Bach and took part in complete recordings of Bach's vocal works, both under Ton Koopman with the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir and with the Bach Collegium Japan under Masaaki Suzuki .

Since 2000 he has been teaching at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and giving master classes at the University of Fine Arts in Tokyo .
