Gerhard Burkhardt (physician)

Rudolf Gerhard Burkhardt (born October 22, 1910 in Leipzig , † September 27, 1978 in Dresden ) was a German physician who specializes in the surgical treatment of carcinoma, hemodialysis, kidney function diagnostics and medical law. From 1965 he was a professor with a teaching position at the Medical Academy "Carl Gustav Carus".

Life

Burkhardt put his Abitur in Leipzig in 1930 and subsequently took up medical studies at the University of Leipzig (1930-1936). In 1937 he received his license to practice medicine and was an assistant doctor in surgery at Ev. Deaconess Hospital Leipzig and in 1938 with the dissertation "On the synovectomy of the knee" to Dr. med. PhD .

In 1943 he became a specialist in surgery. From 1946 to 1950 he was chief physician in the surgical department of the Delitzsch district hospital and the Halle / Saale deaconess hospital (1950–1953). In 1953 he received the specialist certification for urology . From 1953 to 1956 he was an assistant doctor at the Surgical University Clinic Greifswald. 1957 changed Gerhard Burkhardt at the Surgical Clinic of the Medical Academy "Carl Gustav Carus" in Dresden, was there a senior physician and habilitated himself ibid 1960 on "The individual plan of salvation mammary carcinoma according to its growing conditions." On November 1, 1960, he became a lecturer in surgery and, effective September 1, 1965, professor with a teaching position for surgery at the Carl Gustav Carus Medical Academy. In addition to his teaching activities, the physician was chief physician of the surgical department of the Meißen district hospital between 1966 and 1977 .
