Gerhard John (politician)

Gerhard John (born June 19, 1908 in Berlin ; † September 24, 1963 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Gerhard John attended the Borsig secondary school at Lausitzer Platz in Berlin-Kreuzberg and did an apprenticeship as a blacksmith and pipe fitter. He then passed the Abitur as an external student at the Oberrealschule in Berlin-Lichterfelde and studied at the Technical University of Danzig . John joined the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP) in 1929 . From 1934 he was a heating engineer and owner of the Gerhard R. John company in Berlin-Neukölln .

After the Second World War , John joined the CDU in 1945 and was elected to the district council in the Neukölln district in the first Berlin election in 1946 . In the 1954 election he was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives, to which he belonged until the end of the legislative period in February 1963.
