Gerhard Müller (painter)

Gerhard Müller (* 1950 in Seewalchen am Attersee ) is an Austrian university professor , painter , graphic artist and art teacher . He lives and works with Evelyn Gyrcizka in Vienna.

Live and act

Müller first studied psychology and education at the University of Vienna in 1970/71 and then from 1971 to 1978 teaching post for art education at the University of Applied Arts Vienna under Carl Unger and Oswald Oberhuber .

From 1978 to 1985 he was an art teacher in Vienna and from 1980 to 2000 taught evening classes at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (1980 to 1986) and in the master class for painting (1986 to 2000) with Adolf Frohner . Since 2000 he has been a university professor for painting there .

Since 1985 he has been a member of the Künstlerhaus Wien . Müller can refer to numerous solo exhibitions and participations in exhibitions beginning in 1988. Since 1996 he has participated in art fairs in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

  • 3rd prize in the graphics competition of the Lower Austrian Society for Art and Culture, 1986
  • Recognition award from the state of Lower Austria, 1987
