Gerhard Söhnke

Gerhard Söhnke (born July 5, 1916 in Johannisburg in East Prussia ; † July 1, 2013 in Bonn ) was a German ambassador .

Life

From 1950 to 1951 Söhnke took part in the second course for the higher foreign service in Speyer . He was employed at the representations in Paris , Brussels , Montreal , Toronto , 1955 at the Consulate General in Ottawa 1957 Consul General in New Orleans and Istanbul . In 1954 he was appointed consul and 1962 Legationsrat transported First Class, 1967 in the Department of Politics for the presenting Legationsrat. From 1970 to 1974 he was ambassador to Togo , until 1979 in Haiti and until 1981 chargé d'affaires in Cyprus .
