Gerlef Meins (born June 30, 1970 , according to the individual records listed) is a German chess player .
Life
On the Lower Saxony state level in 1985 he was in Uelsen C-youth master 1987 in Hannover B-youth champion and 1990 also in Hannover A-Junior Champion. In 1991 he became Lower Saxony State Champion in Bad Lauterberg . In 2000 he won the Open in Baunatal . In 2002 he was in Apolda German champion in rapid chess after Tie against the tied Thorsten Michael Haub and Thies Heinemann . Until 2006 he was a six-time Bremen individual champion. In February 2007 he won the Northwest Cup in Bad Zwischenahn , in May 2008 the Großenbaumer Whitsun Open in Duisburg ahead of Felix Levin .
In his youth, Meins played for SK Brake (now part of SV Brake ). He now plays in the German Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga North for SV Werder Bremen , with whom he made his first Bundesliga appearance in 1994 , was German team champion in the 2004/05 season and took part in the European Club Cup five times .
The qualified mathematician has held the title of International Master since 1997 .
