The German Bowl XXVIII was the final of the 2006 season of the German Football League (GFL). The game took place on October 7, 2006 in the stadium on Hamburger Strasse in Braunschweig . The way to the final

The way to the final was almost identical for the two German Bowl participations. Both the Lions and the Mercenaries won their division with ease. Marburg only left the field as a loser twice, Braunschweig even suffered only one defeat. In the quarter-finals, both teams had a runaway victory without opposing points and then prevailed clearly against the vice of the other division in the semifinals. Again Braunschweig prevailed a little more clearly.
