Gernot Erler (Author)

Gernot Erler (born January 27, 1935 in Münster ; † June 7, 2011 in Krelingen ) was a German educator and art historian . He lived and worked in Krelingen (city of Walsrode , district of Heidekreis , Lower Saxony ).

Life

After studying history, art history and German at the Georg-August University in Göttingen from 1956 to 1961, Erler worked as a teacher in the secondary school service in Hanover , Northeim and Walsrode from 1961 . In his doctoral thesis he dealt with the county of Hoya .

Erler was from 1969 teacher and senior teacher at the school Walsrode . In addition, he wrote numerous publications on regional topics. From 1986 to 2001 he was a voluntary curator of art monuments in the district of Soltau-Fallingbostel . On November 8, 2000 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit .
