Gert Audring

Gert Audring (born February 6, 1944 in Schrimm ) is a German ancient historian . He is a professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin , where he works in the Philosophical Faculty at the Institute for History.

Life and accomplishments

Gert Audring studied history , English and Latin at the University of Potsdam and the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 1969 he passed the state examination for scientific professions. From 1971 to 1991, Audring first worked as an employee, from 1986 as head of the Greco-Roman history department at the Central Institute for Ancient History and Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR .
