Gert Wohllebe

Gert Wohllebe (born March 24, 1931 in Grechwitz , Amtshauptmannschaft Grimma ) is a former economic manager of the GDR and politician of the SED , who was general director of the combine chemical plant construction Leipzig-Grimma between 1979 and 1990 .

Life

Farewell, son of a laborer in a quarry, graduated after attending the elementary school , a vocational training for Coppersmith in VEB machine and apparatus Grimma. In addition to his professional activity as a coppersmith, he completed an evening course from 1955 to 1957 at the engineering school for heavy engineering in Leipzig , which he finished in 1957 as a master of the state-owned industry. He then worked between 1957 and 1962 as head master at VEB Maschinen- und Apparatebau Grimma and joined the SED as a member in 1958. For his services from 1962 to 1965 as head of a business unit, he was awarded the honorary title of hero of work in 1964. In addition, he was a member of the SED district leadership in the Leipzig district between 1962 and 1979 .

After further studies from 1964 to 1966 at the engineering school for chemical apparatus construction, which he graduated as an engineer in 1966, Wohllebe became director for technology and in 1971 chief engineer before he became director of VEB Maschinen- und Apparatebau Grimma between 1971 and 1978.

Wohllebe, who studied at the Leipzig District Party School from 1969 to 1970, was awarded the National Prize of the GDR III with other employees of his company in 1970. Class for science and technology “for its part in the complex rationalization of the series production of components for chemical plants”.

At the 8th party congress of the SED from June 15 to 19, 1971, he was elected as a candidate for the Central Committee. In 1977 he was awarded the title of Honored Technician of the People and in 1981 the Patriotic Order of Merit .

After the merger of the VEB Chemieanlagenbau- und Montagekombinat Leipzig, VVB Chemieanlagen Leipzig, VEB Konstruktions- und Ingenieurbüro Chemie Leipzig, VEB Maschinen- und Apparatebau Grimma - parent company, VEB Engineering Central Office Böhlen, VEB Chemieanlagenbau Leipzig and VEB Apparatebau und Eisengießerei Leisnig-Tragnitz to VEB Chemieanlagenkombinat Leipzig-Grimma / parent company based in Grimma on January 1, 1979, Wohllebe became General Director of the newly created combine, and he held this position until 1990.

On the XI. At the SED party congress from April 14 to 17, 1986, he was elected member of the SED Central Committee . In 1987 he was awarded the title of Honored Inventor and an honorary doctorate in natural sciences from the Karl Marx University in Leipzig .

After German reunification in 1990, he took early retirement.
