Life

The qualified beautician and owner of a beauty salon had just played an extra role in the filming of the confessions of the impostor Felix Krull with Horst Buchholz when she was elected Miss Hamburg in May 1957. On 22 June 1957 she was in Baden-Baden for Miss Germany crowned.

A few days later (June 26th) she reached 3rd place at the Miss Europe in the same place and also reached the final (5th place) at the Miss Universe in Long Beach (California) in July of that year . At both competitions she received the title Miss Photogenic .

Because Gerti Daub corresponded to the type of actress Grace Kelly , who was just in demand , who after her marriage to Prince Rainier III. of Monaco had withdrawn from the film business the previous year, the production company MGM offered her a film contract, which she did not accept. Instead, she played a small role alongside Hans Albers as Miss Germany in 1957 in The Heart of St. Pauli .

On February 15, 1958, she met the presenter Carlheinz Hollmann during an interview in the NDR television magazine Die Current Schaubude , whom she married on December 1 of the same year. Shortly afterwards she withdrew into private life.

Gerti Hollmann has a son (Nils, * 1959) and a daughter (Nicole, * 1962) and has lived in Luhmühlen (municipality of Salzhausen ) in the Nordheide since 1965 .
