Current showroom
The current showroom was the title of an entertainment magazine for Norddeutscher Rundfunk , which was broadcast from 1957 to 2009. The program was thus the oldest regularly broadcast in the (north) German television program. In 2004 the name was shortened by the preceding article to current schaubude and most recently from December 2009 until you were hired in December 2011 reduced to only schaubude , where it was only broadcast irregularly.
reception
The program consisted of a mixture of music , conversations and infotainment with a local focus on northern Germany .
history
The template for the current show booth was the American Today Show in 1957, which was adapted for German television by Rüdiger Proske , head of the regional program of the NDR ( Nordschau ). He hired the radio journalist Werner Baecker as director and presenter of the series. The first broadcast was broadcast live on December 7, 1957. The program was produced in the so-called "Glass Studio", a car salon at Dammtor in Hamburg . The sales room was cleared every Saturday after the store closed at 2 p.m. so that NDR television could move in to prepare for the show. The audience could watch the broadcast live in front of the windows of the car showroom.
The concept of the show quickly developed into a street sweeper : In its prime, the show booth had around seven million viewers. The great popularity of the show meant that performing guests and artists were always paid a fixed fee of only DM 200 - later euros - regardless of their popularity. For this fee, guests such as Mick Jagger , Freddy Quinn , Heinz Erhardt , Sophia Loren , Romy Schneider , Amanda Lear and Theodor Heuss appeared. In the last regular studio broadcast on May 29, 2009, the 2190th issue of the current Schaubude u. a. the singer Sandra, the actor Harald Krassnitzer , the singer DJ Ötzi and the comedian duo Emmi and Mr. Willnowsky are guests.
With the beginning of color television in the Federal Republic of Germany in 1967, the Schaubude moved for technical reasons from Dammtor to the NDR television studios in Hamburg-Lokstedt , where it continued to be produced live - now in color - in front of an audience. In the mid-1980s - with the introduction of private television in Germany - the current Schaubude lost its slot in the first program and has since been on the third television program of the NDR on Fridays at 9:15 p.m.
In March 2009 it became known that the North German Broadcasting Corporation is removing the “Current Showroom” from its fixed program. The reason given was the poor audience ratings . Since then, the live broadcast has not been broadcast weekly, but rather irregularly as an external broadcast. In December 2009 Sandra Eckardt and Michael Thürnau ( BINGO! ) Took over the moderation of the now briefly renamed schaubude show until it was finally discontinued in December 2011.
