Ute Blaich

Ute Blaich (born January 2, 1939 in Nuremberg ; † February 22, 2004 ) was a German editor, publisher and children's book author.

Life

Blaich, who had studied literature , psychology and art history , wrote for children together with authors such as Jürg Schubiger and her husband Gert Haucke . She was also heard as a speaker on fairy tale records. From 1978 onwards, the painter, who also studied, was in charge of the children's book page of the time , for which she created the prestigious “ Luchs ” award in 1986 for the best children's book of the month. From 1991 to 1997 Blaich was then very successfully responsible for the rotfuchs children's book series by Rowohlt Verlag. Later she introduced a respected bibliophile picture book division at the Aufbauverlag.

Blaich also achieved greater fame in the 1970s as the presenter of the NDR television program Current Schaubude .
