Gertraud Kreissig

Gertraud Kreißig (* 1938 in Königsberg , East Prussia ; † June 15, 2011 in Potsdam ) was a German actress .

Life

Gertraud Kreißig initially worked as a bookseller in Berlin . After studying acting at the German Academy for Film Art , she got engagements in Zeitz and at the Cottbus City Theater . Here she met Rolf Winkelgrund, one of the most influential theater directors in the GDR in the seventies and eighties of the twentieth century. He brought the actress to the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam in 1970, to which she had been a member for almost 35 years until her retirement in 2004.
