TIB document delivery
With the TIB document delivery , the Technical Information Library (TIB) enables quick provision of documents in electronic or printed form or direct access to electronic documents and multimedia objects via the TIB portal. The TIB portal is a research and ordering portal for specialist and research information with a focus on technology and natural sciences. The functions and services previously available via GetInfo, the specialist portal for technology and natural sciences, are fully integrated into the TIB portal.
TIB portal
The TIB portal bundles access to specialist databases, publisher offers and library catalogs. Approximately 177 million data records are available, including 77 million TIB's own. Various multimedia objects such as research data , audiovisual media and 3D models are integrated in the TIB portal.
Search engine technology and various filter options can be used to precisely search for technical and scientific literature in the TIB portal. All holdings of the TIB can be searched via a search entry. To expand or restrict the search, the database selection offers a large number of technical and scientific specialist databases. Research in the TIB portal is free of charge.
The full texts are delivered for a fee by the TIB document delivery service from the Technical Information Library in Hanover. The TIB is the German central specialist library for technology, architecture, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics. The so-called gray literature in their subject areas, which is difficult to obtain and not available in bookshops, is a specialty of the library . The TIB's holdings comprise a total of around 9.2 million volumes and microforms as well as around 57,800 current specialist journals (electronic and print). Taking into account the currently applicable copyright delivery conditions, the full texts are delivered in electronic form, by post or by fax (including PC fax). Electronic journal articles from important technical and scientific publishers can be accessed online.
