Gianluca Grignani (born April 7, 1972 in Milan ) is an Italian cantautore .

Career

Gianluca Grignani grew up in the Lombard metropolis and moved to Brianza at the age of 17 . At an early age he began to write his own pieces of music and perform them in the bars in his neighborhood. He made a living doing a number of odd jobs at the time. The meeting with the guitarist and producer Massimo Luca , who gave him contacts to the important record companies, was of decisive importance for his musical career . In 1994 it was launched by Polygram at Sanremo Giovani , the preliminary selection for the newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival , with the single La mia storia tra le dita . He made it into the 1995 festival , where he entered the race with the song Destinazione Paradiso . He then released his debut album of the same name, which was a great success, especially on the South American music market (under the title Destino Paraíso ).

The much more rocking second album La fabbrica di plastica was released in 1996 and met with mixed reactions. This was followed by a first tour through Italy. In 1998 Grignani released the third album Campi di popcorn . The following year, he was played in the film Branchie of Francesco Ranieri Martinotti , a film adaptation of Niccolò Ammanitis novel The last night on the islands , the main role. After a stay in India , the singer returned to Sanremo in 1999 , where he presented Il giorno perfetto at the festival . This was followed by a compilation of the same name, Grignani's last album for PolyGram / Warner. Now at Universal , he released his next studio album Sdraiato su una nuvola in 2000 , which not least contained the successful single Speciale .

With Lacrime dalla Luna , the singer tried again in 2002 at the Sanremo Festival; the song found its way into his fifth studio album Uguali e diversi , which reached the top of the charts for the first time. In 2003 Grignani not only married, but also published the compilation Succo di vita . His first daughter was born two years later and the album Il re del niente was released . This was released in a new version in 2006 after another Sanremo participation (with Liberi di sognare ) . In 2008 Grignani could be heard again in Sanremo with the song Cammina nel sole and ended his time at Universal with the release of the album of the same name. The first album on the new Sony label was Romantico Rock Show in 2010 , which was preceded by the successful single Sei semper stata mia .

After a book was published (the autobiographical La mia storia tra le dita ), the next studio album, Natura umana , was released in 2011 . In 2012 he made a guest appearance at the Sanremo Festival at the invitation of Pierdavide Carone and Lucio Dalla . It wasn't until 2014 that he returned with the single Non voglio essere un fenomeno , which introduced the album A volte esagero . This was reissued in 2015 , after another Sanremo participation with the song Sogni infranti . The album Una strada in mezzo al cielo , released on the occasion of the 20-year career in 2016, contained newly recorded songs from Grignani's first two albums.
