Gideon Weizel

Franz Gideon Weizel (born August 10, 1807 in Stockach , † February 1, 1872 in Karlsruhe ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of Oberzollers and later domain administrator Johannes Jodokus Weizel and his wife Franziska, née von Heußer, Weizel studied philosophy after attending grammar school in Donaueschingen , then law in Tübingen and Heidelberg . During his studies in 1822 he became a member of the Germania Tübingen / Feuerreiter fraternity . After completing his studies, he became a lawyer in Heidelberg in 1831 and later in Lahr. In 1836 he went into the administrative service in Baden and became an assessor in Bruchsal , in 1838 a clerk at the Bruchsal Oberamt and in 1841 a domain councilor in Karlsruhe for the management of forest domains and mines. In 1843 he was Councilor to the Government of the lower Rhine district in Mannheim , 1844 Councilor in the Ministry of Interior in Karlsruhe. In 1849 he became a secret trainee in Karlsruhe, in 1852 Ministerialdirektor in the Ministry of the Interior and in 1860 as a secret councilor and president of the newly established Grand Ducal Baden Ministry of Commerce in the Stabel trade minister . In 1862 he became a State Councilor and retired in 1863. In 1864 he became president of the newly created Baden Administrative Court . He was co-editor of the journal for Baden administration and administrative law .

From 1841 to 1842, 1843 to 1846 and from 1847 to 1848 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly , from 1867 to 1872 of the First Chamber, of which he was first Vice-President from 1867 to 1872. In 1850 he was a member of the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament .
