Giedrius Titenis (born July 21, 1989 in Anykščiai ) is a Lithuanian breaststroke swimmer . One of his greatest successes was the runner-up European title over 50 m breaststroke at the 2014 European Swimming Championships in Berlin .

In this competition he was only defeated in 27.34 s by the world record holder over this distance from the preliminary run, the Englishman Adam Peaty (27.00), and relegated the Slovenian Damir Dugonjič (27.48) to third place. For Titenis there was also two bronze medals over 100 and 200 m in Berlin: over 100 m in 59.61 s again behind Peaty (59.43) and his compatriot Ross Murdoch (59.43), over 200 m behind Marco Koch (2: 07.47 min.) And again Murdoch (2: 07.77) in 2: 08.93 minutes.
At the swimming world championships in Rome in 2009 , Titenis had already won bronze over 200 m in 2: 07.80 to the hundredth of a second ex aequo with the Australian Christian Sprenger . Here the Hungarian Dániel Gyurta won in a European record time of 2: 07.64 ahead of the American Eric Shanteau (2: 07.65).
After a total of 12th place over 100 m breaststroke at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , Titenis finished eighth and last at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London over 100 m in 60.84 s; Here the South African Cameron van der Burgh won in a world record time (58.46).
