Gilbert Blaize Rego
Gilbert Blaize Rego (born September 3, 1921 in Bombay , † June 21, 2012 in Bandra, Mumbai) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Simla and Chandigarh .
Life
Gilbert Blaize Rego was ordained a priest on December 5, 1953 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Simla and Chandigarh on March 11, 1971 . The Archbishop of Delhi Angelo Innocent Fernandes donated him episcopal ordination on September 11 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Ignatius P. Lobo , Bishop of Belgaum , and Alfred Fernández , Bishop of Allahabad .
On November 10, 1999, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
