The diocese of Simla and Chandigarh ( lat . : Dioecesis Simlensis et Chandigarhensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Simla in India .
history
Pope John XXIII founded the diocese Simla with the Apostolic Constitution Indicae genti on June 4, 1959 by splitting the Archdiocese of Delhi and Simla , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese.
By a decree of the Propaganda Fide it took its current name on May 12, 1964.

The diocese of Balasore comprises the districts :
- Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti, Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur in the state of Himachal Pradesh ;
- Panchkula, Ambala, Yamuna Nagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Kaithal, Jinde, Hisar, Bhiwani, and Sirsa in the state of Haryana ;
- Patiala, Sangrur, Mansa, Bathinda, Fatehgarh Sahib and Rupnagar in Punjab State ;
- and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
