Gilbert Louis (born May 31, 1940 in Champsecret , Orne ) is a French clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Châlons .

Life

Gilbert Louis was ordained a priest on July 11, 1965 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Châlons on March 1, 1999. The Archbishop of Lyon , Louis-Marie Billé , donated him episcopal ordination on April 11 of the same year ; Co - consecrators were Henri-François-Marie-Pierre Derouet , Bishop of Arras , and Yves-Maria Guy Dubigeon , Bishop of Sées .

On December 23, 2015, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
